Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation, gently removing the top layer of dulling, dead skin cells. This then reveals a smoother and brighter complexion. Within our Dermaplaning facial we offer a full skin analysis, the Dermaplaning procedure, finished with a soothing facial mask. Ensuring your skin is feeling both comforted and soothed post facial.
The results can vary for everyone, but you can expect to see smoother skin, zero peach fuzz (until it grows back, of course), and brighter-looking skin. And because you’re removing all your dead skin cells, your skincare products will better penetrate your skin when you apply them, making them all the more effective.
Some light redness can be expected but not always. Think of Dermaplaning as the ‘lunch time’ facial. You could have this treatment done and be able to continue with your day as normal.
This treatment removes all ‘peach fuzz’ from the skin surface, meaning makeup application is smoother than ever. Although it’s tempting to see the results right away, try to avoid applying makeup immediately after your treatment. Ideally you would apply makeup 24 hours post treatment, but this isn’t imperative.
Contrary to what you’d think, Dermaplaning will not make your hair grow back thicker or darker. Once your hair begins to grow back, it might feel different because the hair was cut straight across, but it’s actually the same texture as it was before and it will grow at the same speed.
Quite the opposite, actually. A buildup of dead skin can clog your pores and hair follicles, which can not only cause blemishes but also block your skincare products from penetrating the skin. This is why exfoliation is essential for maintaining an even, healthy glow.
